I really like looking at people's workspaces. I feel like a person's personality really shows through how they organize and decorate their personal office, desk, or studio. So when I came across these behind-the-scenes images of the creative offices at Martha Stewart Living, I found it very intriguing to see where and how the creative minds create all the wonderfulness of the Martha Stewart brand.

One of my most favorite blogs to read is Snippet & Ink. It's the ultimate compilation of gorgeous photos and colors combos and is so ridiculously inspiring. Reading it brightens my day. Today's inspiration board really brightened my day. This vibrant shot of coral and green totally erases the gloomy feeling of the cold rainy gray outside.

A New Year: A Clean Slate

I've never really made any specific New Years resolutions and I've certainly never seriously tried to keep any. I usually just make the same cliche generalities of what I want to happen in the coming year, and then end up forgetting about them by the second week in January. As much as I'd like to say, "This will be THE year that I will make and keep serious resolutions to improve my life," I'll just be honest and say that probably won't happen.

So for this New Year, 2009, my generalities/resolutions (which I will try hard not to let slide) are:

- re-organize and de-clutter (especially my closet)
- just eat healthier (this means dramatically cutting back my Coca-Cola intake)
- be more conscious of my spending habits and save more (no more sporadic J.Crew purchases!)
- be positive, patient and purposeful

I'm also thinking that with the new year, the blog deserves a new look. So maybe a few little changes and updates are in store.

This year has truly been the "Year of the Blog" for me. I discovered the world of blogs back in January and quickly became hooked, and have not only started my own as a place to record random creative inspirations, but have continually stumbled upon many, many wonderful blogs that are a joy to read. Thanks to all who have commented and to all who keep reading my little blog!

Christmas was over just as fast as it came! Hope everyone's holidays were warm and festive!

It's back to the daily grind for me, but these historically-tinged, colonial interiors have me dreaming of the easy elegance of simpler times. sigh.
