1 Year and a Feature on EAD!

One year ago today, Hunter and I were practicing walking down the aisle at our wedding rehearsal. It is CRAZY to think that already a whole year has flown by since being married!

To commemorate our first anniversary, I thought I'd (finally) share our wedding!

But first, since it is WAAAY overdue, I wanted to share our wedding featured on one of the most fabulous wedding blogs around, Elizabeth Anne Designs!

We were honored to be featured as a Real Wedding back in May (I know, I am so behind the power curve here, forgive me!). I was excited to hear from Ami and give her some insight into our wedding planning and the day itself. She gave us a wonderful feature, and shared some of our favorite images. We love how it turned out!

Thank you to Ami at Elizabeth Anne Designs for sharing our special day!

and the award...

...for fiercest magazine cover goes to.... the ridiculously good looking cast of Mad Men. This show was definitely deserving of it's recent Best Drama Emmy award. Best show on television, by far.

letterpress love

I finally experienced the pure joy of letterpress printing this past Saturday, and fell in love! I took a letterpress workshop with my mother offered by a local press shop and learned how to print on an antique C&P letterpress. We had a great time learning about the craft and printing our own project. There's a lot that goes into creating a letterpress piece, and I now have such a better appreciation for the time-honored tradition. I'm certainly looking to incorporate letterpress into the wedding in some factor. I'm smitten with it.

go USA

So I blame the Olympics for why I haven't been blogging. Has anyone else been watching it all?I've been taping the broadcasts throughout the day and then come home from work and get drawn in to watching the hours of coverage (fact: the Olympics are way better to watch when you can fast forward through all the commercials and replays). All this skating and skiing has really been distracting! There have been a lot of great moments so far...

more madness

I just can't get enough of Mad Men... I watched three episodes last night, and then browse around on the computer this morning to find this photo shoot and article in Vanity Fair, shot by Annie Leibovitz.

Pops in the Park

The Charlotte Symphony hosts a free summer concert series called Pops in the Park and the first night was this past Sunday. The outdoor concert park was so packed we had to sit behind the pavilion stage. We took a picnic dinner and enjoyed sitting out in the warm weather enjoying the wonderful music of the symphony.

I tried out this recipe by Giada de Laurentis. It was pretty tasty and was perfect for the picnic, along with cheddar garlic biscuits, fruit salad and brownies. Overall it was a great time and I'm excited for this weekend's show!
