Last week I randomly started watching
The Pillars of the Earth through my instant Netflix and was so immediately intrigued by it that I spent a whole evening watching all 8 episodes back to back. I read the
book last summer and while the miniseries progresses through the story
very quickly (and is rather graphic), it stayed true to the nature of the novel. I found myself wishing there were more than 8 episodes. If you don't have Netflix, it looks as though you can still watch all of them online
